We have modified a few rules to maximize your league experience. We do not operate all NFL flag football rules and so this rulebook supersedes the one found on NFLFlag.com
NFL Flag is the largest youth Flag Football League in the U.S. and GLVA offers the largest program in the Lehigh Valley area
Serving youth athletes across the country, NFL FLAG leagues are no contact, giving boys and girls of all abilities a chance to develop their fundamental football skills in a positive, inclusive environment.
General overview of the game:
- 5 v 5
- Games are played on a 40-minute continuous clock with two twenty-minute halves
- Each time the ball is spotted, a team has 30 seconds to snap the ball
- Each team has one 60-second time out per half
- No blocking or “screening” is allowed at any time
- Ball carriers MUST make an effort to avoid defenders with an established position
- Defenders are not allowed to run through the ball carrier when pulling flags
- All players are eligible to receive passes (including the quarterback, if the ball has been handed off behind the line of scrimmage)
